We have a new home on Patreon
We have moved our podcast to the Patreon platform – Why you might ask? It is due primarily due to changes in the funding of our investigations.
Usually our investigations and production costs are covered by funding from either a TV production or newspapers in exchange for the story. However those industries are struggling financially now and no longer have the spare budget to support us.
Series 1 through 5 will remain free as they always were, but from Series 6 onwards we will be charging a small fee. Patreon allows us to charge £3 as a one-off fee on a per series basis, which is much more preferable than a recurring subscription that other platforms offer.
How does it work? On Patreon you can look at our individual posts and we will also create “Collections”, a Collection has all of the episodes in that series. To listen, you would simply purchase a Collection (series) for £3 and that will unlock all episodes in that series.
Visit our podcast page here https://www.patreon.com/thedetectivepodcast/ The first time you visit our page you will be prompted to join our channel for free. Joining the channel is similar to a free membership, then once joined you can choose to purchase a Collection or you can listen for free to Series 1 through 5.
Note: if you use the Patreon app on an iOS device then Apple’s app store then the cost is a bit higher as Apple charge Patreon a fee of about 30%.
Spotify users can synchronise their Patreon purchases with their Spotify account and listen to the podcasts on Spotify if they wish.
